Who we are?



Deepam Trust is a Non-profitable organization working for the development of most vulnerable communities. We facilitate and promote our people through organization,federation for non-violent, and peaceful collective actions. We support them to lift out of poverty using a holistic, sustainable development model.


Deepam Trust established on 11 October 1995. It was registered under the Indian trust registration Act of 1882. Foreign Contribution Regulation Act with Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and Income tax exemption Act under 12AA and 80G.


What do we do? We help poorest of the poor, Dalits, tribes, women and children, senior citizens, physically challenged, adolescent, and most vulnerable people.

School Renovation,Smart Class, Toilet Facilities for Poor and Dalit Children

Renovation of St. Lourdes Aided Middle School building in Siluvaipuaram village:

Education is the foundation of development. The middle class and upper-middle-class children are admitted to private English medium schools which are providing quality education. The most vulnerable Dalit children only have opportunities in government schools and government-aided schools.

So we renovate St.Lourdes Aided Middle School and provide Smart class facilities, toilet facilities and furniture for  suitable teaching and learning environment for students.









COVID-19 Pandemic relief services:








The long lock down for the Coronavirus pandemic has closed schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. Millions of children in India are missing out on education as schools have been shut since March 2020 because of the coronavirus outbreak. Most of the private - have moved classes online, millions of children do not have access to computers, phones, internet, televisions, or even electricity. We have been conducting special coaching centers at 5 villages for 485 Dalit children.

Covid19 Second Wave: 

We distributed rice to 355 poor families who affected by corona virus second wave infection

Training on Organic Vegetable Garden  and Vegetable  Seed Distribution:


Deepam Trust organized 2 days training for 250 women  on "Organic Vegetable cultivation. We covered organic vegetable garden, Panchagavya, Fish fertilizer, Themore Karaisl, Amirtha karaisal. During the training, we distributed  vegetable seeds to the participants.



Educational Centers for Poor and Dalit Children:  

Awareness generation program on COVID19

People living in rural communities are equally anxious during the coronavirus pandemic unprecedented times for their daily bread and health issues. In order to support these communities Deepam Trust partnered with the Homeopathy Doctors Association in France, we distributed ration kits consisting of rice, pea dal, masala, cooking oil, groceries, sugar, soap, etc. to 320 families in 5 villages.

Ø  We conducted 50 awareness meeting on COVID19 at 50 target villages around 4800 poor people benefited by this program.

    Health care program:


Deepam Trust conducts health camps on alternative medicine Siddha, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Yoga and Meditation, Counselling sessions for drug addict people and treatment. Besides training on ethnomedicine a basic medical approach for all kinds of the medical system is being conducted by our trust, so for 10 medical camps and 5 pieces of training on medical systems have been conducted.








Medical Auxiliaries training: 10 rural youth trained in alternative medicine Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Yoga, and Meditation.


Training on HIV/AIDS: 612 boys and girls from 50 villages were trained in adolescence, STD, STI/RTIs, HIV/AIDS infection; premarital sex, safer sex, etc were the major component of the health training.


Our staff and volunteers  distributed Vitamin A liquid and Albendazole (De-worming) tablet to 1643 under 5 aged children and Multivitamin tablet to 572 pregnant women.


Our staff and volunteers  distributed in 3200 Birthing Kits to indigenous narikkuravar pregnant women and maternal healthcare providers to help enable a safe and cleaner birthing environment and our staff and volunteers conducted 850 street corner meetings on reducing maternal the mortality rate in 90 settlements a total of 10800 people benefited under this program.


120 village level awareness meeting held at 50 villages on drug addiction and its impact, 2800 Dalit women and men benefited under the program.


Training on nutrition management and health education has been conducted 250 Dalit women benefited through the program.


Training on social awareness:
Deepam Trust conducted a social awareness program through training and  cultural program at 20 villages a total of  450 youth have shed lost differences as an effect of this program.


Social Awareness training for Dalit women:
450 Dalit women have trained to analyze socio-economic, political, cultural, and environmental situations of today through training and workshops, the women have enabled to acquire analytically skills.


Deepam Trust has been encouraging volunteerism in all its activities and programs so for 25 volunteers from 15 villages have been created by Deepam Trust to work for the cause of downtrodden with the value of a common goal.


Promotion of volunteers: 
International Volunteers
International volunteers have been regularly visiting our organization and target areas. Deepam Trust has created a well-furnished living house for international volunteers in the rural setting.

We are an ambitious organization that aims to bring about large-scale positive change for women, children, Dalits, poorest in the poor. This means that we want to work with people who share our commitment, and are able to put great ideas for improving our work into practice.
We welcome international volunteers at any time in our area.


Tree plantation and environmental conservation:
Deepam Trust Volunteers and women association members planted more than 1500 trees in the house site, temple, school ground and common places for an environmental drive. About 50 people were involved in the plantation of the campaign, in which saplings were placed in 5 villages of Thiruppananthal block. Dr.Jean Pierre, France, and Dr. Thamizhthendral, B.H.M.S; Mathirimangalam granted the tree saplings.


Deepam Trust has been provided 96 solar lights to 96 semi-nomad narikkuravar community people.


Skill training program 
Deepam Trust conducted baking training to 25 rural women and gardening training to 25 rural women. The project's purpose was to create employment opportunities for rural poor women.


Educational development of Dalit children:
As part of our regular ongoing initiatives for the poor needy, we have been providing education sponsorship programs for the underprivileged Dalit students, we have been paying convent school & tuition fee to the school and providing educational material support to 12 needy girl and boy students. With this sponsorship, they are attending school regularly without any hurdles.


Summer camp:
The purpose of the summer camp is to enable their all-round growth and development. Children are involved in activities that provide for artistic expressions. Theme-based activities, and rights - oriented events bring out their talents into the open. Cultural programs become a focus of entertainment and joyful experience for poor and slum children.


We provide educational materials i.e note books, pen, pencil, eraser, geometry box, exam pad, writing papers, and shoes to 75 girls children from deprived families so as to remove/solve the existing problems and we have conducted awareness meeting to the parents of the target girl children.


The psychological and spiritual development of Dalit and tribes:
Recognizing the non-hierarchical, egalitarian and cosmic centeredness of indigenous and Dalit spirituality should lead to the practice of Cosmo city, living faith, and ideology that life, the body and the world around us are simultaneously good, functional, and sacred. It is an essential path for the restoration of the commons, for the health of Mother Earth, and perhaps the very survival of the human race.
Since 2009 we have been providing Buddha Dhamma retreat, meditation, and mindfulness practice for Dalit women and children. A total of 550 Dalit women and children have benefitted under Buddha Dhamma retreat, meditation and mindfulness practice program


Income generation activities for Dalit and tribes 
55 Dalit women assisted training on cow rearing, value-added milk products, Panchagavya, Generation of biogas for cooking, lighting, and electricity generation to achieve self sufficiency in energy demand, preparation of organic manures and pesticides from cow dung and urine, cultivation of medicinal plants, Efficient utilization of animal power etc, seed money provided them to purchase a cow.


250 Dalit women received vegetable seed kits, seedlings, fruit-bearing tree saplings to make an organic vegetable garden.


We distributed shoes for 704 school going children from deprived families in rural areas.
